David Crockett QB Larkins leads NET honorees

David Crockett keeps on keeping on, and quarterback Cade Larkins is a big part of the winning equation.

The Pioneers improved to 7-0 on the season thanks to 367 yards passing from Larkins. For his efforts, the junior was chosen for the top spot in this week’s Johnson City Press/Times News Northeast Tennessee Players of the Week honor roll.



Cade Larkins

David Crockett, QB

Connecting for five touchdown passes, Larkins had a field day in the Pioneers’ 41-10 run-away win over Cherokee. He hit on 12 of 23 passes for 367 yards to go over 2,000 for the season.


Carter Everett

Elizabethton, QB

The senior helped the Cyclones rough up Union County by completing 13 of 15 passes for 258 yards and six touchdowns in a 54-13 win.


Joey Byrd

Sullivan Central, RB

The streak is over at 36 losses as Joey Byrd carried 18 times for 172 yards and three scores in the Cougars’ 51-42 win over Sullivan East.


Chris Thomas

Science Hill, RB

Helping the Hilltoppers bounce back from a tough loss, the junior carried 23 times for 211 yards and a 77-yard touchdown in a 17-3 win over Hardin Valley.


Brock Thompson

Unicoi County, QB

Unaka’s defense was no match for the precision of the sophomore as he hit on 10 of 11 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-0 win.
